Hi! My name is Mike Hamilton, and I've been officially photoblogging for just about 2 years, currently at http://www.michaelhamilton.ca

Recently, I discovered the Images Alberta Camera Club in Edmonton. I decided to check out a meeting (at Allendale Jr. High School, 6415 - 106 Street in early January. Coincidence would have it that Dale Hudjik (of Spun With Tears) was the speaker that night, discussing photoblogging!

I've since participated in a print competition, and taken part in a photography outing to the Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Village on Hwy 14, where we had full I've really enjoyed taking my learning off the internet and into more face-to-face contact - and I've met a few good people in the process! We meet on the second and fourth Thursday from September to May from 8 to 10pm. Check it out for 3 meetings before you join! There's a wide range of abilities and interests to keep everyone happy!

and I've done nothing here because I suck ... well not really, its just the time factor ~ lives get busy and this site tends to be that which gets neglected. So, I am putting out a call for all of you ~ do you want to be a contributor because this site needs a whole lot of contributers in order to keep it going. I figure if there are many, there will always be one that has time :-)

so please let me know in the comments if you are interested in contributing and maybe we can dust the dust of this thing and actually have some excitement here ~ that would be cool!

Please welcome the newest member of our Alberta Photoblogging community, Trevor Riehl of Scorched Earth. Trevor has some incredibly beautiful photos on his site, including this golden dream and this alberta past time. Trevor's photos give us a glimpse into his life and each wonderous photo tells a story.

I for one am really glad to have met Trevor's site and am looking forward to seeing more : )

This one is for the Holga Junkies amongst us, so if you own a holga, you might be interested in the The Holga Show. Photomedia Center is accepting submissions until November 11, 2006. You can submit up to 8 images and there is no cost for your submissions.

Do check out the the guidelines and then submit if you can.

I'm sure many of you folks know (or at least have heard about) JPG mag, but those who don't should definitely check out the love child of Heather and Derek.

Submission for the next issue is still open, and this time there are three categories: Big, Self-Portrait, and Hometown. It's not too late to submit yours. And while your deciding which of your many great images to submit, go check out my HOMETOWN, and SELF-PORTRAIT submissions, and vote YEAH if you like any of them. I've been slacking on my photography and blogging, so I need some boost like getting published in JPG mag. Have them votes coming, will yah? ;)

Hi everyone,

A friend of mine is in need of a wedding photographer on a last minute "help me" basis as his wedding photographer is unable to provide service due to a family emergency. If you are able to provide your services for his wedding this Saturday (Saturday, September 30, 2006) please let me know (orangedaisiesREMOVESPAM@gmail.com) and I will provide you with his contact information.

This is a paying gig and obviously it would be good if you have some experience with portraits and preferably weddings (which I know more than a few of you have) .. : )
