Birdie, thanks for the heads up with your post on alberta meetup. I checked it out but I think it is time to also attempt to organize some sort of alberta photoblogger meetup.
I meet for tea and most excellent conversation with Dale from spunwithtears when we can (usually every couple of months) and it is always wonderful to discuss photography and photoblogging and all things in the universe. Recently, I had the extremely good fortune to meet Jen from photojenic while she was up from Muskoka with her husband. I say good fortune because Jen is one of those beautifully warm people that are so wonderful to talk to as evidenced by our four hour long coffee :) It was great fun to talk with her about photography, photoblogging, life and well you know four hours worth of talk. In both cases, meeting fellow photobloggers was so wonderfully positive - and great fun to talk with those who have similar interests.
I consider myself extremely blessed because I also happen to live with a couple of photobloggers so geekery and photo snaps abound but I want to meet all of you who inspire me so much. I had a brief email with Chris about a meetup before my life got so busy that I let everything sit on the back burner and we didn't know if it was feasible or realistic to get everyone together the first time. I think eventually, it would be cool to meet somewhere central if we can at all swing it though. I think this is something that would be fun to do on a fairly regular basis though, well as regular as can be managed.
I thought I would start small and suggest an edmonton meetup for us edmonton folks and anyone else who happens to be in the area. We could do one of the following:
- pick a place to meet and talk, coffee, tea or whatever.
- pick a place to meet and do a photoshoot.
- or combine the above ...
thoughts? dates? interest in doing this?
sidenote: Duke, Aiden and I are going to be touring Alberta in a few weeks time and I thought it might be fun to get together with as many of you all that we can. If you are interested, pop me an email and we can try and figure something out as I am in the process of planning the big Alberta camping road trip. wheee!
