JPG mag

I'm sure many of you folks know (or at least have heard about) JPG mag, but those who don't should definitely check out the love child of Heather and Derek.

Submission for the next issue is still open, and this time there are three categories: Big, Self-Portrait, and Hometown. It's not too late to submit yours. And while your deciding which of your many great images to submit, go check out my HOMETOWN, and SELF-PORTRAIT submissions, and vote YEAH if you like any of them. I've been slacking on my photography and blogging, so I need some boost like getting published in JPG mag. Have them votes coming, will yah? ;)

a photographic opportunity

Hi everyone,

A friend of mine is in need of a wedding photographer on a last minute "help me" basis as his wedding photographer is unable to provide service due to a family emergency. If you are able to provide your services for his wedding this Saturday (Saturday, September 30, 2006) please let me know (orangedaisiesREMOVESPAM@gmail.com) and I will provide you with his contact information.

This is a paying gig and obviously it would be good if you have some experience with portraits and preferably weddings (which I know more than a few of you have) .. : )

calender update

Quick update and clarification on Calender (thanks Ren :)

If we want to put out an ABPhotobloggers Calender, all that would be required of you is the following:

1.  submission of at least 1 photograph for inclusion

2.  promotion of calender on your photoblog

It is very easy to put together via lulu and cafepress.  I have accounts with both and I would be happy to put it together and send to you for your review and then voila, we are ready to sell.  Options for what to do with the dollars (since I am moving away from typepad and onto my already existing site) will be to either donate to a charity or divide between the participating photobloggers to do with as they wish.

So, if you would like to participate, please comment.  Once I know how many would like to participate, I will contact you individually with regards to number of photographs and size requirements.

Awesome.

The more the merrier people, every single one of you has amazing photographs that would be perfect for this project.  Your name would be included with your photograph.

Keep warm - looks like snow is just around the corner!

abphotobloggers calender

I have discussed this idea with a few of you, and so am bringing it forward to the larger group.  I want to hear your thoughts with regards to putting together an abphotobloggers calender using either cafepress or lulu - I think I'm leaning towards lulu based on quality but would like to know what you think?  Does anyone have any experience with either of these?

Is anyone interested in putting together a calender and promoting the selling of said calender?  I thought it could be cool on many fronts and thought perhaps we could do a couple of things with the proceeds, options including but not limited to:

1) paying for this space as currently, I pay for it on a monthly basis at $14.95 USD a month

2) donating to a worthwhile charity in Alberta.

3) using the money to help fund future abphotoblogger photography shows

4) insert idea here

Anyway, you get the idea.  I would be happy to coordinate something if there is interest.  Looking forward to your feedback on this.

Forth Annual Blogger Boobie-Thon

The Fourth Annual Blogger Boobie-Thon is upon the blog world.  I have for the first time participated and I wonder if other Alberta Photobloggers will do any self-portraits for it too?  It is all for a good cause, for Breast Cancer and Hurricane Katrina Relief, AND if you have any unexplored exhibitionist tendencies you can tend to them now!

Here is where to go if you are interested FOURTH ANNUAL BLOGGER BOOBIE-THON .
